Despite the heavy rain and occasional strong wind the Suffolk County Radio Club had a successful Field Day.
Many Club members came out to support the Club during the 2015 event.
Ken KD2DZZ set up his Eagle One Vertical Dipole.
Bill KD2COL and Vinny KC2WPP did a great job setting up other antenna systems for the event.
Bill KC2COL set up his camper and it made for a comfortable and dry operating station out of the rain.
The club tent held up well until a huge gust of wind toppled it over around 4 AM. Fortunately, no radio equipment got damaged by the heavy rain.
The newly donated Club HF radio operated well. Thanks to Bruce WB2ADF for your generous donation.
Gil KC2WCB donated an HT for a Field Day raffle. Tony KB2HRB had the winning ticket and the radio was presented to Tony by Greg KC2GGH our club president.
As always, the negative moments of Field Day are put aside and talks about how to improve on the operation next year is the topic of conversation as break down begins.
A special thanks to our President Greg KC2GGH (right) for taking on the task of organizing the 2015 Field Day.
Thanks to all club members and visitors who also helped make Field Day a success.
